RENTAL DURATION
When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick-up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick-up time. The day of the vehicle's return is counted as the final day of the rental. When a rental moves from one rate season into the next, the calculation is based on both rates.

Minimum rental period is 7 days.
Late pick up or early return of vehicle does not entitle the hirer to any refund of the unused portion of the rental.

LICENCE
A full resident country drivers licence, held for a least one year, is to be presented at the time of rental. If the licence is not in English format, an international drivers licence is also required.

AGE RESTRICTIONS
Drivers must be 21 years of age or over. A medical certificate stating that the customer is fit to drive the vehicle they have booked for the duration of the hire is required for drivers over the age of 75.

ONE-WAY RENTALS
One-way rentals are available between Auckland and Christchurch or vice versa.

DIESEL TAX RECOVERY FEE
Road user charges at NZ$59.00 per 1000kms, and 06 cents per km part thereof.

EXTRA DRIVER FEES
An extra driver fee of NZ$50.00 per additional driver is required.

BRANCH HOURS FOR PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF
Auckland and Christchurch: Daily from 08.00 to 17.00 (Closed Christmas Day and New Years Day)
Collection and return times are between 8.00am to 4.00pm daily.
Pick ups after branch hours may be available by prior arrangement.
Late returns will be charged on a per day basis.

INSURANCE
Rates include standard cover insurance. Insurance excess options are available and can be decided on vehicle collection.

BOND/EXCESS
A Bond/excess of NZ$5000.00 is payable at the commencement of hire. This is the excess on the insurance and is taken as a credit card imprint only - this is only charged in the event of damage or accident.

REDUCED EXCESS OPTION
A reduced excess option is available for an additional NZ$16.00 per day reducing the excess (Bond) to NZ$2500.00, credit card imprint only - this is only charged in the event of damage or accident.

NO WORRIES PACK
A full insurance option is available for an addtional NZ$49.00 per day, reducing the excess (Bond) to NZ$250.00, credit card imprint only - this is only charged in the event of damage or accident. Includes Diesel Tax Recovery Fee. Also included: Camping table and outdoor chairs / Gas BBQ / Toilet Chemical / Starter pack.

EXCLUSIONS
Personal belongings are not covered. We recommend the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they take out personal insurance.
All Excess Reduction is void if the terms of the Rental Agreement are breached. The hirer will be responsible for the total cost of any damage. This will also include any damage caused by wilful conduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle) and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Hirer will be responsible for the cost to retrieve or recover a vehicle which has become bogged, regardless of the LDW (Loss and Damage Waiver) being taken.
The hirer will be responsible for the cost to replace keys which have become lost, or retrieval of keys which have been locked in a vehicle.
Overhead and underbody damage, all damage above the level of the driver cabin and the underbody of the vehicle is the hirers liability for the full cost of repairs.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit of NZ$350 is required on collection of the vehicle to ensure campervan is returned on due date complete as taken, and in clean condition. Vehicles returned in an un-clean condition will be charged a NZ$100 fee from the security deposit. Toilet and wastewater tank must be emptied on vehicle return or a NZ$150 fee will be charged from the security deposit. LPG gas bottles are given full on vehicle collection and are to be returned full or a fee of NZ$20 per bottle will be charged against the security deposit. All traffic fines will be charged against the security deposit with a NZ$150 handling / representation fee per fine. Security deposit will be cancelled on vehicle return provided above conditions are met.

CHANGE OF DROP OFF DESTINATION
If the hirer wishes to change the drop off destination after the rental has commenced, they must first obtain authorisation from the Reservations Centre in Auckland.. Subject to the change being approved, an additional charge of NZ$150 will apply.

RENTAL EXTENSION
If the hirer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire, they must first obtain authorisation from the Reservations Centre in Auckland. This is subject to availability. The extra cost of an extended rental must be paid by credit card over the telephone on confirmation of the rental extension.

Failure to obtain authorisation will result in a fee of NZ$500 in addition to the daily rate. Adventure Vans allows a grace period of 24 hours before the hirer is liable for the late return fee.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Motorhomes can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well-maintained roads. No vehicle shall be driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook) and North of Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula).

Adventure Vans reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions.

ON-ROAD ASSISTANCE (7AM to 8PM)
Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure, must be reported to Adventure Vans as soon as possible, and within 24 hours in order to give Adventure Vans the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental. Failure to do so will compromise any claims for compensation. Adventure Vans do not accept liability for any claims submitted after this period.

REPAIRS
Repairs up to $100 may be effected without authorisation and will be reimbursed. For amounts over $100, Adventure Vans will need to be informed in advance. Repairs will be approved provided the hirer was not directly responsible for the damage. Receipts must be submitted for any repair or the claim will not be paid.

CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Should the vehicle booked be unavailable through unforeseen circumstances, Adventure Vans reserve the right to substitute an alternative vehicle without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to a refund.

VOLUNTARY DOWNGRADE
Should the hirer decide to take a smaller vehicle than booked they will not be entitled to any refund.

IMPORTANT
Adventure Vans reserves the right to refuse any rental at its discretion.

ANIMALS
No animals are permitted in the vehicles.

DEPOSIT
Payment terms - 20% Deposit against daily hire rate. The remaining daily hire total, bond, optional insurance waivers and any additional equipment must be paid at the Depot at the commencement of the hire.
